President's Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I have never been one to make New Year’s resolutions – not that I lack the wherewithal to stick to a particular course of intention, but I feel that a propensity to do better, excel and to challenge myself should not be limited to just one day of the year. Instead, I believe, it is an attitude and an incentive that should be ongoing throughout the year.

And I am proud to say that is exactly what ACTE does, day in and day out – bring you, the professionals of the international business travel industry, the best of our association’s collective talents and dedication.

As a not-for-profit, ACTE truly runs lean and green. We use your membership and sponsorship money where it achieves the greatest benefit and provides the highest value – in our unrivaled global educational programs and conferences. We listen, we think, but most of all we do. ACTE is not in anyone’s back pocket – we’re front and center and that’s where we intend to stay.

Below is just a quick list of what we do on a continual basis to bring value to each dollar contributed by our members and sponsors:

  • ACTE is the only international association that supports the corporate travel industry through regularly scheduled educational programs held more than 60 times each year in 50 countries.
  • ACTE has offices in seven countries.
  • ACTE’s international representation at the association board level guarantees global vision and accurately depicts membership composition.
  • ACTE boasts members from 82 countries.
  • ACTE’s global conferences and educational programs are solutions-oriented, as well as on the cutting edge of international business, political and economical trends.
  • ACTE is comprised of equal membership for corporate representatives and supplier members.
  • ACTE’s membership boasts the highest percentage of corporates for any association at 37 percent,.
  • ACTE pioneered Corporate Social Responsibility and will continue to provide members with CSR objectives, programs, and options, while incorporating environmentally friendly practices at global conferences and other events.

And that, as they say, is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

In 2008, the Board and I believe ACTE will surpass itself in the content-rich educational programs we will bring to the business travel industry at our Washington, D.C. and Rome Global Education Conferences, and that this year will be our benchmark for all the years that follow.

That’s quite a commitment, but I know ACTE will deliver.

We look forward to seeing you this year!
Sincerely,
Richard Crum
ACTE President
